SMS Setup & 10DLC Compliance

Peach Suite Pro uses business text messaging to support appointment reminders, service notifications, client follow-up, and approved marketing communication.

Businesses sending application-generated text messages through a standard United States 10-digit phone number may be required to complete A2P 10DLC registration before sending messages.

What Is A2P 10DLC?

A2P means Application-to-Person messaging.

10DLC means 10-Digit Long Code, which is a standard local telephone number approved for business text messaging.

10DLC registration helps mobile carriers identify legitimate businesses, understand what kinds of messages they send, and reduce unwanted or fraudulent text messages.

10DLC Registration Requirements

A complete 10DLC setup generally includes:

* Business or brand registration

* Campaign registration

* An approved messaging use case

* Representative sample messages

* A documented client opt-in process

* Required HELP and STOP instructions

* Assignment of the sending telephone number to the approved campaign

Campaign approval by itself may not be enough. The business telephone number must also be properly assigned to the approved campaign before messaging is enabled.

Business Brand Registration

Brand registration identifies the business responsible for sending messages.

The information submitted should accurately match the business's legal and public information.

This may include:

* Legal business name

* Business type

* Employer Identification Number or other registration information

* Business address

* Website

* Business email address

* Contact information

Incorrect or inconsistent information may delay registration or cause the registration to be rejected.

Campaign Registration

A campaign explains why the business sends text messages and what clients should expect to receive.

Examples may include:

* Appointment confirmations

* Appointment reminders

* Schedule changes

* Customer support messages

* Account or service notifications

* Promotional or marketing offers

* Mixed service and marketing messages

The selected campaign use case must match the messages the business actually sends.

For example, a campaign registered only for customer care should not be used to send promotional advertising.

Service Messages and Marketing Messages

Peach Suite Pro treats service communication and marketing communication separately.

Service messages may include appointment confirmations, reminders, rescheduling notices, receipts, and other messages related to an existing client relationship or requested service.

Marketing messages may include promotions, special offers, product announcements, newsletters, campaigns, and messages intended to encourage a purchase.

A business approved for service messaging is not automatically approved to send marketing messages.

Marketing must be included in the registered campaign use case and enabled in Peach Suite Pro before SMS marketing controls become available.

Client Consent Is Still Required

10DLC approval authorizes the business and campaign to use the messaging network. It does not provide consent on behalf of an individual client.

Before sending a message, the business must also have the appropriate client consent for the type of message being sent.

Peach Suite Pro records service SMS consent and SMS marketing consent separately.

SMS Availability in Peach Suite Pro

SMS communication remains locked until the following requirements are satisfied:

* The 10DLC campaign is approved

* The sending number is assigned to the approved campaign

* The campaign permits the intended message type

* Peach Suite Pro has verified and enabled the business

* Messaging has not been suspended for a compliance or policy issue

SMS Marketing remains locked unless the approved campaign specifically permits marketing messages.

Manual Verification

Peach Suite Pro currently uses a manual verification process for 10DLC approval.

After receiving approval documentation, the Peach Suite Pro platform administrator reviews the campaign information and enables the appropriate messaging features.

The platform administrator may record:

* Campaign status

* Campaign ID

* Registered use case

* Telephone number assignment status

* Whether marketing is permitted

* Verification date

* Person who completed the verification

Messaging Suspension

Peach Suite Pro may temporarily suspend service messaging, marketing messaging, or both when a compliance, consent, carrier, policy, or security concern is identified.

A suspension does not necessarily mean that the carrier campaign approval has been cancelled.

The suspension prevents messages from being sent through Peach Suite Pro until the issue is reviewed and resolved.

Suspensions and re-enablement actions are recorded for audit purposes.

Campaign Changes

Contact the Peach Suite Pro platform administrator before making a significant change to the types of messages your business sends.

A new or updated campaign may be required when:

* Marketing messages are added

* The business changes its opt-in process

* A different brand will send messages

* The campaign use case changes

* A new sending number is added

* The original campaign is rejected or suspended

Important Reminder

10DLC registration, campaign approval, and client consent are separate requirements.

Approval of the business does not replace client consent, and client consent does not replace business registration.
