The Client Contact Preferences page provides a central view of each client's communication permissions.
Use this page to review whether a client may receive phone calls, service-related emails, marketing emails, service-related text messages, or marketing text messages.
Understanding Communication Types
Peach Suite Pro manages service communication and marketing communication separately.
Service communication includes messages related to appointments, requested services, receipts, account notices, scheduling changes, and other operational communication.
Marketing communication includes promotions, special offers, newsletters, campaigns, product announcements, and other messages intended to encourage a future purchase.
A client may allow service communication while declining marketing communication.
Contact Preference Columns
The table displays the following communication preferences:
SMS — Service-related text messages such as appointment confirmations and reminders.
SMS Marketing — Promotional and marketing text messages.
Email — Service-related email messages such as confirmations, receipts, and account notices.
Email Marketing — Promotional email, newsletters, announcements, and special offers.
Call — Permission to contact the client by telephone.
Status Symbols
The page uses compact status symbols to make preferences easy to review.
Green Check Mark — The client is Opted In.
Red X — The client is Opted Out.
Gray Dash — The preference has not been set.
Gray Lock — The messaging feature is unavailable for the business.
Move the pointer over a status symbol to view its full description.
Opted In
Opted In means the appropriate permission has been recorded for that communication channel.
Before sending a message, Peach Suite Pro may also verify that:
* The client has a valid phone number or email address
* The business is authorized to use the communication channel
* The client has not submitted a later opt-out request
* The message type matches the recorded consent
Opted Out
Opted Out means the client has declined communication or has withdrawn previously granted consent.
An Opted Out status overrides an Opted In status.
Do not manually change a client back to Opted In unless the client has provided valid new consent.
Not Set
Not Set means Peach Suite Pro does not have a clear consent decision for that preference.
Not Set should not be treated as marketing consent.
Review the client's documentation or obtain the appropriate consent before enabling marketing communication.
Locked SMS Preferences
SMS preferences may display a lock when the business is not currently authorized to use that messaging feature.
Common reasons include:
* 10DLC registration has not been completed
* The campaign is still pending approval
* The sending telephone number has not been assigned to the campaign
* Marketing is not included in the approved campaign use case
* Messaging has been temporarily suspended for a compliance or policy issue
A lock applies to the business's messaging availability. It does not automatically change the client's historical consent record.
Searching for Clients
Use the search field to locate a client by:
* First name
* Last name
* Phone number
* Email address
Partial searches are supported.
Filtering Contact Preferences
Use the filter menu to display clients by communication status.
Available filters may include:
* SMS Opted In
* SMS Opted Out
* SMS Not Set
* SMS Marketing Opted In
* SMS Marketing Opted Out
* Email Opted In
* Email Opted Out
* Email Marketing status
* Phone Allowed
* Phone Not Allowed
* Missing Phone
* Missing Email
Select Clear to remove the search and filter settings.
Missing Contact Information
A Missing label indicates that the client does not have a phone number or email address recorded.
A client may have valid consent but still be unable to receive messages when the required contact information is missing.
Update the client's profile before attempting to send a message.
Editing Preferences
Select Edit to open the client's Contact Preferences page.
The Edit page allows you to review and update each communication channel separately.
Only change a preference when the client's request or consent has been properly documented.
Consent History
Select History to review changes made to the client's communication preferences.
The history may include:
* Communication channel
* Previous status
* New status
* Date and time
* Source of the change
* User who recorded the change
* Administrative notes
Consent history provides an audit trail and should remain available even when the client changes their preference again later.
Important Reminder
A business's technical ability to send a message and a client's permission to receive that message are separate requirements.
Always verify both before sending SMS or email communication.
