Income

Learn how to manage income records in Peach Suite Pro, including sales, taxes, tips, processing fees, net amounts, payment details, and imported transaction data.

Updated: October 02, 2026

The Income page is used to record and review business income that is not entered through an appointment.

This may include income such as:

  • Business rebates or refunds
  • Rental income
  • Training or consulting income
  • Commissions
  • Miscellaneous business income
  • Other income that is not connected to a completed client appointment

Appointment Income

Income from services and retail products sold during an appointment should not normally be entered manually on the Income page.

Service income and retail sales are entered when the appointment is completed through the Finish Session process.

Finish Session records the financial details of the appointment, including applicable service charges, retail sales, tips, taxes, payment information, and credit card processing fees.

This helps prevent duplicate income entries and keeps the appointment, client history, and financial reports connected.

Adding General Business Income

Use the Add Income option to record income that was received outside of the normal appointment workflow.

Enter the date, income type, amount, payment information, description, and any notes needed to explain the transaction.

Use a clear description so the source of the income can be identified later in reports.

Year-to-Date Income and Expense Comparisons

Year-to-Date, or YTD, totals show financial activity from January 1 through the current date.

YTD comparisons help you review:

  • Total income earned so far this year
  • Total expenses recorded so far this year
  • The difference between income and expenses
  • Changes compared with prior reporting periods
  • Whether income is keeping pace with operating expenses

These comparisons provide a quick view of the financial direction of the business. They can help identify increases in expenses, changes in sales, and periods when additional attention may be needed.

YTD figures are based on the income and expense transactions currently recorded in Peach Suite Pro.

Income Report

The Income Report provides a detailed view of income recorded during a selected date range.

Depending on the transaction and report layout, the report may include the following financial categories:

Gross Sales

Gross Sales represent the total sales amount recorded before credit card processing fees are deducted.

This provides a broad view of the sales generated by the business during the selected reporting period.

Retail Sales

Retail Sales represent income received from products sold to clients.

Retail sales entered during Finish Session are included in the financial reports along with the related appointment information.

Service Charges

Service Charges represent income earned from services provided to clients.

Service income is normally recorded when an appointment is completed through Finish Session.

Tips

Tips represent gratuities received from clients.

Tips are tracked separately from service and retail income so they can be reviewed independently.

Credit Cards

Credit Cards represent the portion of recorded income that was paid using a credit or debit card.

This amount can be used to compare Peach Suite Pro records with payment processor activity and deposits.

Credit Card Processing Fees

Credit Card Processing Fees represent the fees charged by the payment processor for accepting card payments.

These fees are shown separately so gross sales are not confused with the amount deposited after processing fees are deducted.

Taxes

Taxes represent sales tax collected from clients when applicable.

Taxes are tracked separately because collected sales tax is not the same as business income and may need to be reported and paid to the appropriate taxing authority.

Selecting a Report Date Range

Select the beginning and ending dates for the Income Report.

Common reporting periods include:

  • Today
  • This Week
  • This Month
  • Last Month
  • Year-to-Date
  • Custom Date Range

The report updates based on the selected dates.

Printing and Downloading Reports

Income Reports can be printed for review or recordkeeping.

Reports may also be downloaded in the following formats:

  • Excel
  • CSV

Excel files are useful for additional calculations, formatting, and financial analysis.

CSV files provide a simple data format that can be opened in spreadsheet programs or imported into other accounting and reporting systems.

Avoiding Duplicate Income

Before manually entering income, confirm that the transaction was not already recorded through Finish Session.

Service income, retail sales, tips, taxes, and card-processing information connected to an appointment should normally be entered only once through the appointment completion process.

General business income that is not connected to an appointment may be entered directly on the Income page.
