Square β€” Sync Activity

Sync Activity is your central place to see what Peach Suite Pro has done with your Square synchronization.

When you are wondering whether a sync finished, whether something failed, or what happened during an earlier synchronization, Sync Activity is the first place to look.

What Is Sync Activity?

Sync Activity provides a history of Square synchronization activity for your business.

It helps you understand:

  • When a synchronization was started.
  • What type of synchronization was performed.
  • Whether the synchronization completed successfully.
  • Whether something failed or needs attention.
  • Whether a synchronization can be resumed or retried.

Where Do I Find Sync Activity?

From the Peach Suite Pro main menu, select Square and open Sync Activity.

You can also reach Sync Activity from Square-related workflows when Peach Suite Pro provides a link to view synchronization details.

Why Should I Check Sync Activity?

Sync Activity prevents you from having to guess what happened.

For example, suppose you click Sync All to Square and later are not sure whether the process finished.

Instead of starting another sync, check Sync Activity first.

Remember: Check the current status before repeating a synchronization.

Understanding Synchronization Status

The exact information displayed can vary depending on the synchronization and the type of information being processed.

Completed

The synchronization finished successfully for the work represented by that run.

A completed run does not necessarily mean that every record in your business was changed. It means the supported synchronization work represented by that run completed successfully.

Processing

The synchronization is still being processed.

Allow Peach Suite Pro time to continue rather than repeatedly starting another sync.

Needs Attention

Peach Suite Pro could not complete one or more items automatically and needs you to review the available information.

A needs-attention status does not necessarily mean that the entire synchronization failed.

Failed

Peach Suite Pro could not complete the synchronization or the applicable operation.

Review the details before deciding whether to retry, resume, or correct an underlying problem.

What Does Processing Mean?

A processing status means Peach Suite Pro is still working on the synchronization.

Large synchronization jobs may take time because there can be many supported records to process.

You should not repeatedly select Sync All to Square simply because the existing run has not finished yet.

What Does Needs Attention Mean?

Needs Attention means Peach Suite Pro needs you to review something before the affected item or operation can be completed.

The issue may be limited to:

  • A client
  • A service
  • A product or catalog item
  • An inventory item
  • A payment or reconciliation item
  • Another specific part of the synchronization

Review the available details and follow the recommended action.

What Does Failed Mean?

Failed means Peach Suite Pro could not complete the applicable synchronization operation.

Before retrying:

  1. Open the failed run.
  2. Review the available details.
  3. Determine whether the problem is specific to an item or affects a larger part of the synchronization.
  4. Correct any underlying information when necessary.
  5. Retry or resume when an appropriate option is available.

What Is a Synchronization Run?

A synchronization run is one execution of a supported Square synchronization process.

Keeping the run history allows Peach Suite Pro to show what happened over time instead of replacing the previous result every time a new synchronization is started.

Can I See Multiple Sync Runs?

Sync Activity is intended to provide a history of synchronization activity, allowing you to review earlier runs as well as the most recent one.

This is useful when you need to answer questions such as:

  • β€œDid I already run this sync?”
  • β€œWhen did this synchronization happen?”
  • β€œWas the previous run successful?”
  • β€œDid this problem start with today's sync or an earlier one?”

What Information Should I Look For?

When reviewing a synchronization run, look for the information Peach Suite Pro provides about:

  • The date and time of the run.
  • The synchronization type or action.
  • The overall status.
  • Progress or processing information.
  • Items that succeeded.
  • Items that failed or need attention.

What If I Ran the Sync for a Specific Reason?

When the optional sync-run comment feature is available, add a short note explaining why you started the synchronization.

Examples:

  • This was for testing.
  • This was card stock.
  • Added new services for September.
  • Updated products before the weekend event.

The technical status still comes from Peach Suite Pro. The comment simply provides business context for the run.

Can a Sync Run Be Resumed?

In supported situations, Peach Suite Pro may provide Resume Sync.

Resume Sync is intended to continue an interrupted synchronization rather than create an unnecessary new full run.

Can I Retry a Failed Item?

When Peach Suite Pro provides a retry option, use it after reviewing the reported problem.

If an underlying record needs to be corrected first, make the correction and then retry the applicable synchronization.

What If Only One Item Failed?

Do not assume the entire synchronization failed.

Review the individual item and the overall run status. A single failed client, service, product, inventory item, or other record may be isolated from the rest of the synchronization.

What If the Entire Run Failed?

Review the run details first.

The failure may be related to the Square connection, a broader synchronization problem, or another condition identified by Peach Suite Pro.

Follow the available corrective steps before trying again.

Should I Delete an Old Sync Run?

No. Sync Activity is intended to preserve useful synchronization history.

Previous runs can provide important context when troubleshooting, reviewing business activity, or determining when a particular synchronization occurred.

Does Sync Activity Change My Square Data?

Viewing Sync Activity does not itself change your Square data.

It is a record of synchronization activity. Actions such as starting a sync, resuming a sync, retrying an item, or performing a reconciliation are separate operations.

What If I Am Not Sure What Happened?

Start with the most recent synchronization run.

  1. Review the status.
  2. Review the date and time.
  3. Review any available progress or result information.
  4. Look for failed or needs-attention items.
  5. Do not start another synchronization until you understand the existing run.

Coach Peach and Sync Activity

Coach Peach may direct your attention to an important Square synchronization issue.

For example, Coach Peach may recommend:

  • Retry Now
  • View Details / Sync Activity
  • Dismiss

Coach Peach helps explain and prioritize the issue. Sync Activity remains the place to review the actual synchronization history and status.

When Should I Contact Support?

Contact Peach Suite Pro Support when:

  • A synchronization continues to fail after the available corrective steps have been followed.
  • You cannot determine whether a synchronization completed.
  • The reported result appears inconsistent with what you see in Square.
  • A payment or business record remains unresolved after using the available reconciliation options.
Helpful information to provide: the business, approximate date and time of the sync, the synchronization type, and any relevant details shown in Sync Activity.

Quick Reference

What You See What It Means What to Do
Processing The sync is still running. Wait and monitor the existing run.
Completed The represented sync work finished successfully. Review the result if needed.
Needs Attention Something requires review. Open the details and follow the corrective steps.
Failed The applicable synchronization did not complete. Review the failure before retrying or resuming.
Resume Sync The existing sync may be continued. Resume the existing synchronization.

Remember

Sync Activity is your first stop when you are unsure what happened.

Check the history, understand the current status, and then decide whether you need to resume, retry, reconcile, or contact support.
